That's why many authorities discourage burying euthanized pets anywhere animals can reach them, and why cremation is simpler for most families. Switzerland has about 1,520,000[5] pet cats, roughly three times its dogs. Pet crematoria in most regions offer individual cremation with the ashes returned, and your vet can arrange collection. Rules on burying a cat on your own land are set by the canton and commune. Ask for a written quote in CHF covering collection, the cremation and the urn.
Step by step in Kusnacht
- Take a breath. Nothing has to happen in the next hour. If your cat died at home, lay them on a towel, close their eyes if you can and tuck their legs in as if they were sleeping.
- Take anything you want to keep now: a small clipping of fur from the chest or behind a back leg, shed whiskers from their bed, their collar or tag.
