Human cremation sits at around 60.2%[3] in Illinois, and pet owners are split in a similar way. The first 48 hours, step by step

- Tell the hospital which crematory you want. An emergency hospital's usual partner may differ from your own vet's, and you can name either or one you found yourself.
- Check that the hospital records private or communal correctly when they fill in the release paperwork, and take away a copy that carries your cat's name.
- Collect your cat's collar, carrier and blanket, or ask the team to send the blanket with your cat.
