Human cremation sits at around 60.2%[3] in Illinois, and pet owners are split in a similar way. Most of the decisions after a cat dies are yours alone. The exceptions are burial and scattering, which Illinois and your local council or city may regulate, and, in some places, updating your cat's microchip record so the database knows they've died.
