Why cremation is familiar in Utah, or isn't
In Utah, where about 46.1%[3] of people are cremated, pet crematories can be further apart than in high-cremation areas, which can mean a wait of a week or two for the ashes. The upside of a cat's size is flexibility: ashes can come back by courier or through your vet, and you can bring your cat to the crematory yourself if the distance is manageable.

What the seasons mean for cat owners in Provo

Will I have to travel to Salt Lake City to arrange things?

How quickly does my cat need to be collected in hot weather?
In summer heat, aim for collection the same day, or the next morning if you can keep your cat cool indoors. Keep the air conditioning on and place your cat in a box in the coolest room with two or three wrapped ice packs or frozen bottles alongside, not underneath. A cat's small size makes this easy to manage for a night.
