The local attitude to cremation
About 55.7%[3] of people in Texas choose cremation, and the share keeps climbing as families move and live further apart. That's one of the most common reasons cat owners choose it too: a small urn travels, a garden grave doesn't. If there's already a spot on family land where other cats are buried, though, burying the ashes there can give you both.

Before you bury, scatter or plan a memorial, it's worth checking what Texas allows. Keeping ashes at home is allowed everywhere we know of. Burying a whole cat and scattering in public places are where rules come in, usually to protect water supplies and shared spaces, and renters normally need the landlord's permission for any garden burial.

Step by step in Universal City
- If your cat dies at night, you don't need to call anyone until morning. Move your cat to a cool room and cover them with a towel.
