Cremation in New York, and what it means for cat owners
Cremation is now the majority choice for people in New York, at about 55.7%[3], but burial still has deep roots here. You'll see both among cat owners. A cat's small size makes a garden burial easy where it's allowed, and a cat's small amount of ash makes cremation easy to live with. Neither is more proper than the other.
