The local attitude to cremation
Local habits show up in small ways. Where about 80.7%[3] of people are cremated, as in Nevada, relatives are more likely to keep an urn themselves and less likely to question yours. Some owners keep a cat's ashes so they can one day be placed with a person, or scattered together with another cat from the same home. If that's something you'd like, keep the ashes sealed and labelled, and check the rules for any cemetery you have in mind.
