Why cremation is familiar in Michigan, or isn't
Cremation is now the majority choice for people in Michigan, at about 69.5%[3], but burial still has deep roots here. You'll see both among cat owners. A cat's small size makes a garden burial easy where it's allowed, and a cat's small amount of ash makes cremation easy to live with. Neither is more proper than the other.

Ann Arbor weather and timing
If you're driving your cat to the vet or crematory yourself in winter, the cold car helps. Lay your cat in a lined box or carrier on the back seat and drive carefully. Burial, ashes and the rules in Michigan
Most of the decisions after a cat dies are yours alone. The exceptions are burial and scattering, which Michigan and your local council or city may regulate, and, in some places, updating your cat's microchip record so the database knows they've died.

What to do when your cat dies in Ann Arbor

Which nearby towns can I compare with Ann Arbor?
